Connecting a Legacy Horror IP to a New Gaming Audience

Challenge

IllFonic were tasked with bringing the Killer Klowns from Outer Space IP from the 80s to the modern game sphere. Seeking to engage beyond the devoted Killer Klown fan base, the team wished to exponentially expand their creator reach to wider horror gaming audiences. IllFonic sought a platform that could put on a Killer Klown show that will carry the game's creator strategy through release.

Solution

Through repeat engagement with Dare Drop across multiple horror titles, IllFonic was able to tap into pre-existing horror creator communities that were waiting for their next horror drop. Dare Drop’s use of community based engagement and precise creator targeting allowed Killer Klowns to stand out, causing 275 creators to deliver a combined 10.1M impressions across Twitch and TikTok; with Dare Drop regulars contributing to the Drop organically to make amazing bespoke content.
